Happy Leap Day!

Happy Leap Day! A day in which we celebrate the fact that Earth’s orbital period is not able to be expressed as an integer if measured days.

Why does Earth take that extra quarter day? Follow the money.

Who benefits? The big corporations. Every corporation that pays employees an exempt salary gets a free day of work from those employees every four years. Clearly this is a plot by big, evil corporations to exploit their middle-management type workers. I don’t know how they influenced Earth’s orbit when the planet formed 4.2 billion years ago, 4,199,999,500 years before corporations as we know them existed, but they are evil enough where I’m sure they found a way.

hmmm – never thought of it that way. Will have to keep that in mind if I should ever be in that position. Now you’ve got me wondering about those that are paid bi-monthly.

Now, if you’re one of those lucky enough to be born today when you reach 52 it’s actually only your 13th birthday. Got a few more birthdays to go before being of legal drinking age though.
